EGG WATCH!

After three weeks of incubation and seeing the middle egg wobble, we were getting a little concerned that the eggs had come to their last day of incubation and we hadn't seen any signs of cracking. Miss Priddle carefully transported the incubator home for the the weekend and we are delighted to say that one of the eggs has pipped, which means it has started to hatch.
We had hoped this process would happen in school time, but sadly as with most aspects of nature, it is hard to predict what will happen.
Saturday evening - what an exhausting time for the chick, she seems to have been resting for most of the afternoon.  We can currently hear the chick 'cheeping' from inside the egg so we might be in for a busy night!
Sunday morning - we are pleased to let you know that one chick safely hatched at around 7.30am this morning.  Unfortunately, the first egg that had cracked was not a successful hatch so we just have the one chick.

We will keep parents and children updated over the weekend as developments happen.

UPDATES...

We don't let the poor weather dampen our spirits!  We may have had to cancel our FS sports day today due to the rain, but we've had rays of sunshine inside by starting our transition process.  The nursery children were able to free flow between nursery and the F2 classrooms this morning and they had lots of fun.  Take a look at the photos!

DRUMMING WORKSHOP WITH BEATFEET

What a fantastic time we had today when Jude came to join us from 'Beatfeet'.  We had an amazing time playing the drums and singing lots of favourite songs.  This is a Lottery funded project called 'Jumping Djembes' - please check out their website for more information.
We have purchased a few djembe drums so will be drumming away in nursery from now on!

ONE DAY WONDER - INVENTORS DAY

Wow!  The nursery team have been so impressed with the wonderful robots you have designed and made - we have future scientists, designers and engineers busy working in our nursery classes!
