COOKING CLUB 2017-18

Miss McCulloch and Miss Dobson run the Key Stage 2 Cooking Club on Mondays after school in 4 week blocks.  As a school, we are part of the Tesco Eat Happy project which works in partnership with Let's Get Cooking and they provide some funding for our cooking ingredients and equipment.

We make lots of tasty dishes and you will find the recipes here on our page.

MONDAY 11TH DECEMBER - CHRISTMAS CRANBERRY AND ORANGE MUFFINS

For our last session before Christmas, we made delicious cranberry and orange muffins which had a slight cinnamon flavour too! That was our last session for the Autumn Term and Miss McCulloch and Miss Dobson would like to say thank you to all of the children for being such a wonderful group of children to work with!

MONDAY 4TH DECEMBER - BURGERS

MONDAY 2OTH NOVEMBER - PIZZA

What a fabulous session we had making pizzas! We made the dough and then topped them with tomato sauce, cheese and a selection of toppings including BBQ chicken, pepperoni, pineapple, sweetcorn and mushrooms.

MONDAY 13TH NOVEMBER - FRUIT KEBABS

We all had a fantastic time at our first cooking session of this academic year. We learnt the 'claw' and the 'bridge' chopping technique as we chopped various fruit to make our fruit kebabs. The children were a pleasure to work with and Miss Dobson and I were very impressed with how clean and tidy they all were!

VISIT TO STONEBRIDGE CITY FARM

Miss McCulloch and Mrs Tee took all of KS2 Cooking Club and Eco Council on a trip to Stonebridge City Farm in St. Ann's as part of our Food for Life Bronze Award. We learnt lots about the different fruit and vegetables that they grow there and we met lots of different animals!

Wednesday 25th May
This week in Cooking Club, we made pizzas! we made the dough ourselves - the kneading was hard work! We also made the tomato sauce to go on the base and we topped the pizzas with pineapple, sweetcorn, red peppers and cheese. Yummy!

WEDNESDAY 8TH JUNE

This week in cooking Club, we made Lemon and raspberry muffins which were delicious! The children practices skills including weighing, measuring, juicing, zesting, combining and baking. The muffins were a huge hit when they came out of the oven and all of the children got to take 6 home each.
