MATHS ACTIVITY - MONDAY MADNESS!

Have a go at this PUZZLE for your Maths activity today. You have to draw a circle around groups of numbers that total 18. Have a look at the rules you need to follow. The answers are on page two to have a look at when you've finished!

LITERACY ACTIVITY

This week we are going to use the 'Talk For Writing' resource for our home learning. This unit is called 'DOORS - THE WORLD OF POSSIBILITY'. Please use the above document and complete ACTIVITY ONE AND ACTIVITY TWO. Activity two involves you looking at a poem 'THE MAGIC BOX' by Kit Wright. Please use this document below to look at the poem:

This Friday marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day. On Friday, all of our Home Learning activities will be based on this. Today for your non-core activity, we would like you to look at this Powerpoint presentation to learn all about VE DAY. When you have finished, we would like you to make a factfile/poster/leaflet showing what you have learnt. You can present this in any way you like - you may even want to use the computer! Looking forward to seeing your work!

Use the links to have a listen to the two performances and see which one you prefer. Answer the questions about the poem and have a go and performing the poem at home. You could get an adult to record you and send it to the Y6 team!

Have a look at this link above which is more information about VE Day. Using all your knowledge that you have gained about VE Day (remember what you learnt yesterday too) we would like you to write a postcard to a friend. Imagine that you were part of some VE Day celebrations in 1945 and you are telling your friend all about them! You might want to print out this template of a postcard to use or you could copy this template onto some paper.

FRIDAY 8TH MAY

Today is a special day in the UK - it marks the 75th anniversary of VE DAY! We are going to have a ONE DAY WONDER today to mark this special occasion. All of your Home Learning today is going to be based around this important anniversary.

Morse Code was vital during the Second World War, especially in carrying messages between the warships and the naval bases. Have a look at these examples of Morse Code and see if you can decipher them. Then, use the code to see if you can write a message of your own!
