Please complete Summer Term - Week 7 (w/c 8th June) Lesson 3 – substitution. Watch the video and complete the activity. Please find the activity below. Use the answers to mark your work and see how well you did!

LITERACY ACTIVITY

Today we would like you to complete Activity Three – print the table out and cut up the boxes. Can you match them up? If you don’t have a printer at home, read through the table and make sure you understand the different parts of the text – this will help you later with your writing.  That shouldn’t take long so then we would like you to complete Activity Six – planning the gadget! Don’t worry, we’ll come back to the other activities that we’ve skipped out at another point.

NON CORE SUBJECT ACTIVITY - History/ art

Today you are going to learn about the history of Nottingham Castle:

Try to find out why we don’t have a proper castle in Nottingham any more. See if you can find the answers to the following questions:

1. Where did Standard Hill get its name?

2. Why are so many inns in England called the King’s Head or the Royal Oak?

3. Who built the original castle in Nottingham?

4. What is underneath our castle mound?

5. Who burned our castle down and why did he do it?

Challenge – You could try and draw a picture of the castle, we would love to see some of these.

LITERACY ACTIVITY

Today we would like you to complete Activity Seven – drawing the gadget! Really looking forward to seeing your drawings!

NON CORE SUBJECT ACTIVITY - Creativity

Have a go at making your own butterfly feeder.

See the instructions from the British Wildlife Trust below. The warmer days are encouraging the butterflies out of hibernation.

Why not research which colour and flower shape attracts butterflies best? Try to find out what they actually see with their compound eyes.

You could also photograph any that you see in your garden and then research which ones they are.

Have a good weekend!
