LITERACY ACTIVITY
This week, we are going to use another Talk for Writing resource (we’ve used these before and lots of you really enjoyed it) called GADGETS! We are going to build up to you designing your own gadget and writing a persuasive advert for it. Use the document attached. Firstly, as a warm up, have a go at cracking the spy codes and then work out your very own spy name!
Next, read the model text about the multi-function mobile phone and then complete Activity One – vocabulary.

Today we would like you to complete Activity Three – print the table out and cut up the boxes. Can you match them up? If you don’t have a printer at home, read through the table and make sure you understand the different parts of the text – this will help you later with your writing. That shouldn’t take long so then we would like you to complete Activity Six – planning the gadget! Don’t worry, we’ll come back to the other activities that we’ve skipped out at another point.

4. What is underneath our castle mound?
5. Who burned our castle down and why did he do it?

NON CORE SUBJECT ACTIVITY - Creativity
Have a go at making your own butterfly feeder.
See the instructions from the British Wildlife Trust below. The warmer days are encouraging the butterflies out of hibernation.
Why not research which colour and flower shape attracts butterflies best? Try to find out what they actually see with their compound eyes.
You could also photograph any that you see in your garden and then research which ones they are.
