Topic Activity - Design and Technology
This week we are going to be designing and making a tent for a teddy bear or a toy to spend the night outside in. There are lots of different styles of tents, have a watch of the video below about how to pitch a tent.
Today you will design your tent and drawing a picture of what you want it to look like. You might find it handy to label the different parts of your tent and what materials you will use so that you can start to collect them ready to build your tent tomorrow.
Things to consider carefully when designing your tent...
Your tent needs to be able to keep your teddy bear/toy dry over night.
What materials you will use to make your tent? - You could use things such as plastic bags, twigs from trees, tape etc.
The size of your tent - it needs to be able to fit your teddy/toy in it.
How will you stop your tent from blowing away if it is a windy day?
