Reading lesson
Tell your adult what has happened in the story ‘The Little Boat’ so far.
Talk to your adult about what these words mean before reading the next part of the story.

As you read the story try and spot these words.
Questions:
- Why did the sky go dark?
- What sound did the wind begin to make?
- How long did the storm last?
- A few hours

- Just in the morning
4. Find three adjectives in the story to describe what the sea and weather were like once the storm was over.

Lesson 2
Today we are going to continue to read the story ‘The Little Boat’.
Activity
You are going to re-write this part of the story by changing the sea creature.
- Think of a different sea creature and draw a picture of it.
- Then write down how it will move ( e.g. the fish leaped)
- Then think of adjectives to describe your sea creature ( e.g. the fish was great and had a mouth full of teeth)
Set it out like the example below:

Literacy Activity
Using your plan from Tuesday you are going to rewrite the part of the story where the sea creature tries to eat the food.
Everyone should try at write at least 3 sentences or challenge yourself and write 4.
You should use:
- Capital letters
- Full stops
- Finger Spaces
- Adjectives
- Your first sentence needs to describe how the sea creature appears.
- Your second sentence will describe your chosen sea creature using ideas form your plan.
- Your third sentence will explain the sea creature is hungry and that it has taken the boat.
- CHALLENGE – Describe where the creature has taken the boat.
Example
Suddenly a sea turtle slowly emerged from the waves and floated towards the little boat. The rare, enormous sea turtle watched the little boat with it’ dark, emerald green eyes. The sea turtle was hungry and thought the little boat looked tasty. It snatched the little boat and dived beneath the waves, down, down, down into the darkness.
