Do the paintings show emotion? How does the artist show these emotions?

Now it is your turn to make an abstract portrait.

 Your portrait needs to have:

  • bold, block colours

  • different sizes
  • in strange orders
  • strong shapes
  • show emotion

Activity: Create your own cubism portrait, using the face guide and a dice below.

Now admire your portrait, share it with someone else get your grown-ups to send a picture of it to another family member. See what they think of your Picasso inspired portrait.

Topic – Music/ Art

To day you are going to use your imagination!

Have some pieces of paper and a pencil to hand.

Step 1: Listen to the music and draw lines to the music. Try not to take your pencil off the paper, I know it hard but try your best.

When the music has finished take your pencil off and have a look at the lines.

Step 2: Turn the piece of paper over. Listen to the song again, this time you can draw pictures to what you think the song is about.

Listen to the song Bluebird by Alexis Ffrench, click on the link below

Top tip: only let your child listen to the music, not watch the video as it will distract them from using their imagination.

Here is a second song to have a go with, remember that the pictures can be anything let your imagination run wild!
