HISTORY

Learn about your family and their past.

‘Talking Points’ is a list of topics and questions you could ask an older family relative or friend over the phone or by video. It’s a great way to find out more about what life was like for your relatives in the past! Download the guide here:  https://britishbasesingermany.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/talking-points-worksheet-1.pdf

Think about how you could record their answers to your questions. Do they have any photos they could send you? You could create a written document, a poster, a powerpoint presentation, or you could use an app such as Book Creator on your iPad/tablet (great for including audio)

This week you will be thinking about friendship and how to be a good friend. Have a look at the video  about 'Friendship Soup' and discuss your ideas with a family member. There are some questions below to help guide this discussion. Next have a go at completing some of the sheets or creating your own 'Friendship Soup' poster and acrostic poem. Don't forget to take a couple of minutes everyday for some Calm Me time.

You could also make yourself a pop up friendship card. Have a watch of the video below for instructions on how to make it.

NON CORE SUBJECT ACTIVITY

ART

Over the week draw all the things that you associate with lockdown. This could be the view from your window, a self-portrait of you completing home learning, the Thursday Clap for Carers on your street, a water fight in your garden, what you see on your daily walk or all of them… anything which you associate with lockdown. If you have a phone or camera then you might want to do the project using photos. Then play around with filters, how does changing a picture to black and white alter the mood for example?

You could turn this in to a poster or a document on your computer to save, this will then be a permanent reminder of the surreal time you have lived through.
