Monday: Year 2 Story Club
The Great Paper Caper
This week we read the great paper caper by Oliver Jeffers. We loved how mischievous the bear was! After enjoying the story, we created our own paper bookmarks which we decorated how we liked. Everyone was super proud of their bookmark!
Weeks 1 and 2
This half term story club was attended by year 1 and year 2 children. The first book we enjoyed together was 'Clean up' by Nathan Bryon. We were inspired to make our own colourful tortoises which took us 2 weeks to finish! We were so pleased with the results
Week 6 - Christmas
This week we enjoyed a few different Christmassy stories and we made our own reindeer cards.
We have loved going to story club and we have enjoyed so many different books!
Week 5 - Snails and whales
This week we enjoyed the story of the 'Snail and the Whale' by Julia Donaldson.
We made our own moving picture so the whale could safely take the snail on an adventure!
Week 4 - The Rainbow fish
We took a trip under the ocean whilst we enjoyed 'The Rainbow Fish' by Marcus Pfister.
We made our own beautiful rainbow fish to match the story.
Week 3 - Aliens!
This week we were inspired by 'There's an alien in my book' by Tom Fletcher.
We made our own alien masks to enjoy wearing whilst we listened to the story.
15.11.21 - The great paper caper!
This week we listened to the story of 'The Great Paper Caper' by Oliver Jeffers. We loved discussing the bear's motives for chopping down the trees and we found it really funny.
We then made our own paper monster bookmarks for our own stories at home.
8.11.21 Our first story club
This week in story club we used the theme of fireworks for our book.
We looked at 'The King banned the dark' by Emily Haworth-Booth.
We loved this story and we were inspired to create our own fireworks pictures.
We are story club!
