Singing for the Soul

Singing for the Soul

Do you love to listen to Music?

Do you love singing?

Does singing make you feel good?

If the answer is YES to any of the above and you are in Year 3-6 then come and join myself (Mrs Kelly), Miss Dobson and Mrs Tee!

Rock Night

It was brilliant to have all you rockers there tonight!

We have been exploring Rock Music and listened to some of the classics:

Thunderstruck by AC/DC

We will Rock you by Queen
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
Kashmir by Led Zeppelin

We particularly focused on learning:

Feeder by Buck Rodgers

Can I just say you rocked tonight!

Spring Newsflash!

This term we have been looking at musicals and the emotions they can provoke. We have been working on our expression and showing our emotions.

We have listened to The Greatest Showman and we have been learning the song Come Alive! The children are great at singing it acapella.

Well done everyone Miss Dobson and myself are extremely proud of you!

We are excited to share with you that we have now started a new KS2 'Singing for the Soul' club on Thursdays. There was lots of interest in this club and we still have lots of spaces for anyone else who is interested. Please see Mrs Kelly if you would like a letter.

We have been singing the following songs:

Three Little Birds by Bob Marley

This is Me from The Greatest Showman

Thunder Feel the Thunder  by Imagine Dragons (requested by the children)

Mamma Mia by Abba (voted by the children)

An Exciting Opportunity

                                                                             An Exciting Opportunity 1

Memories from 2018-2019

I can't express how incredibly proud I am of the KS2 choir this term. They have been so busy, especially during December.

They have:

  • Recorded a carol for a singing advent Calendar that has been broadcast throughout December on Radio Nottingham
  • Entertained parents by carol singing during our Winter Craft fair
  • Performed for the residents of St Andrews Lodge
  • Performed at the Christmas in the City event at the Royal Concert Hall
  • and finally raised some money and peoples spirits at Morrisons in Bulwell by Carol singing
  •

noA HUGE WELL DONE no
