Music 2025-2026

This year, we are continuing to use Charanga for our music curriculum, but we’ve also introduced the brand‑new Creative Scheme — and it has already transformed our music lessons. The updated programme gives pupils far more freedom to explore sounds, try new ideas, and express themselves through music.

Children are enjoying a wider range of activities, from experimenting with instruments and vocal work to composing their own pieces in small groups. The Creative Scheme encourages imagination, collaboration, and curiosity, giving every child the chance to shine in their own way.

It has been wonderful to see the increased confidence and enthusiasm across the class as they dive into more creative music‑making. We’re excited to continue exploring everything the new scheme has to offer throughout the year!

Music 2024-25

This Year we are continuing to use the music scheme called 'Charanga' which is a fully resourced and exciting music curriculum. The songs include a range of genres, from different eras and are pitched to suit the children’s voices. This scheme has been updated to meet the new music curriculum changes and is even more exciting than ever! This year we will be moving and a grooving, as well as rocking and rolling. Where the rhythm of the music gets your head nodding, foot tapping, hand shaking and hips wiggling.
