  • Anyone for Karate

    This morning our Y1 pupils got to take part in a very special Karate lesson. The children loved their time with our volunteer instructor and I am sure will be eager to show their parents tonight what they have learned!
  • School Choir sing for Radio Nottingham

    Earlier this week our OBS school choir were surrounded by microphones and professionals from Radio Nottingham. They were recorded singing a verse of their new December 2018 School Christmas Singing Advent Calendar! So make sure you listen out for us starting from next week!
  • 'OBS WINTER FAIR' - WHAT AN INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY WE HAVE!

    A huge thank you to everyone who came to our first OBS WINTER FAIR tonight! We have been blown away by the donations we have received for our 'bottle tombola' as the children came to school in their own clothes today! The fair itself was packed! We genuinely have THE BEST community here in Old Basford.

    Thank you to all of our stall holders who gave up their time to make, create and sell items! Santa was a very busy man in his Grotto, but luckily, he did tell me that ....... he had meet MANY, MANY very good boys and girls tonight!

    Our Raffle will be drawn in assembly next Friday (7th December) by the children - tickets will still be on sale tomorrow and next week both before and after school.

    A final THANK YOU to our juts brilliant FOBS team, and to both Mrs Tee and Mrs Ringrose for organising and hosting such a wonderful event!

    Thank you to all of the children and parents who entered our GREAT OBS WINTER BAKE OFF! The winners were announced tonight in our Winter Fair, the judges had their work cut out with all of the incredible entries.

  • Y5/6 Athletics Team Win their Semi Final!

    This afternoon at Harvey Haddon Stadium the Y5/6 Athletics' Team did superbly well and qualified in first place for the City of Nottingham Finals on Tuesday 18th December. Each child performed to the best of their ability, supported and encouraged team mates and showed excellent sportsmanship to all other competitors. PROUD! Looking forward to the finals already!

  • Playground Guardian's on the month for November

    Congratulations to Sharna and Ned who today in Playground Awards assembly were announced as Playground Guardians of the month. Their excellent communication, ability to resolve minor issues and kindness in allowing everyone to feel involved in games, were just some of the reasons the midday behaviour team voted for them.
  • U11'S FOOTBALL TEAM UNDEFEATED AND THROUGH TO 5 ASIDE SEMI FINALS

    On Tuesday after school our U11 boys football team were undefeated winning all but 1 match (which they drew) to get through to the semi finals of the indoor 5 aside Nottingham City Cup! Looking forward to seeing how they get on it in the next round! FANTASTIC EFFORT BOYS!
  • CHILDREN IN NEED COSTUME WINNERS AND CLASS FUNDRAISING CHAMPIONS

    I don't think I realised just how many things your could dress up as using the theme of SPOTS before! Thank you to all of our children and staff for making such an effort to dress up and raise money for Children In Need! Our School Council Representatives went from class to class this morning to pick one child per child who they believed had the best costume! They were then rewarded with a prize!

    Also a huge well done to all classes this week who have tried so hard to raise as much money as possible in our inter class competition! Well done to classes 11, 7 and 13 who raised the most!

  • Black History Project Winners

    WOW! What incredible projects! We were blown away with the level of creativity! Thank you to everyone who brought in their projects from home and then had the opportunity to share them alongside their classmates. The teachers then had the very tough decision of picking a 'top 1' per class! Mr Ross today in assembly announced the winners who showcased their projects to the entire school! I'm sure you'll agree from the picture below they look AMAZING!
