  • OBS AWARED 'PLATINUM' ARTSMARK AWARD

    Sun 24 Apr 2022

We are so incredibly PROUD to share that our school has been awarded the England Schools ARTSMARK AWARD! The award is graded for progression from Bronze, to Silver, to Gold, to PLATINUM!

As well as all of 'The Arts' that OBS has as a part of both its curriculum and extra curricular opportunities; this PLATINUM award is linked to our status as a Royal Shakespeare Company Lead Associate School (which we have been for the past 6 years) and all the work we have undertaken in that time.

Special acknowledgement must go to Mrs Thomas, Assistant Head, Curriculum and RSC Lead for her passionate and unwavering commitment to this, benefitting all teaching and learning within school.

  • YEAR 5 DRAMA CLUB GO TO THE COUNCIL HOUSE

    Thu 21 Apr 2022

This afternoon 10 Y5 pupils, (3 of whom are our school Shakespeare Ambassadors) all of whom are part of our weekly extra curricular Drama Club, BRILLIANTLY represented our school at a very prestigious event!

They spent the afternoon at the Council House with: The Sheriff of Nottingham, 14 professional artists, and 11 other schools who all made on-going presentations about an aspect of 'Creativity' that each school is especially proud of.

Our OBS children chose to share the fact we are a ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY LEAD SCHOOL! They collected work from across school and lead discussions, answered questions and presented this work to over 150 people during the afternoon!

Kasim, Lainey, Carol, Ruby, Finley, Grace, Vicky, Dominica, Pia and Eleanor! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!
