  • Year 6 QUAD Athletics - WINNERS

Thu 20 Jul 2023 Miss Marrow

Today, 10 year 6's (5 boys and 5 girls) attended Harvey Hadden's QUAD athletics events. The event consisted of 4 events, 50m sprint, 400m race, vortex throw and long jump. Each child competed in each event and worked to try and get their best individual points score and team score.

The children were fantastically behaved, showing great sportsmanship and supporting not only their team mates but other athletes from different schools. They all have very bright sporting futures.

When the points were tallied up... OLD BASFORD CAME FIRST!

As well as coming first, individually were had the top scoring boy in our team and top and third scoring girl in our team.

We are all incredibly proud of you and sad to be losing you from our sporting family!

  • Clover Green visit

Wed 19 Jul 2023 Mrs Priddy and Mrs Tee

On Wednesday 17th July, Mrs Tee and Mrs Priddy took 9 children from year 4 to read to the residents at Clover Green residential home. The children chosen are some of our fantastic reading champions. The children were impeccably behaved and the residents were very complimentary over their fluent and expressive reading. We have promised to return regularly next academic year. Well done children! You were a credit to school.

  • NOTTINGHAM PLAYHOUSE COMES TO OBS

Mon 17 Jul 2023 JAYNE THOMAS

Wow what a wonderful start we have had to the week! We have had the pleasure of hosting actors from Nottingham Playhouse who have performed an 80 minute version of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" to the Y3 and Y4 classes. It was so engaging and accessible for the children, especially as the cast got them involved in lots of the scenes."I liked it because all of the actors were exciting, they were funny and I also loved their singing" said Aron.

Please see go to the curriculum page and click on the Shakespeare button for more images of the performance.
