    Listening to our parents and knowing how difficult childcare can be over the school holidays; OBS is proud to hire out our school hall/grounds to both Dancing Motion and Nottingham Hoods! These clubs are exclusive to all OBS pupils this February half term. Please see the details below.

    A huge well done to Tanya and her team of OBS Catering Staff! On Tuesday the Kitchen had a Food Standards Agency Inspection and passed with flying colours! PROUD! Well done ladies!
  • WORLD RELIGION ONE DAY WONDER

    On Monday the entire school celebrated World Religion Day! Every class embraced numerous faiths and cultures from around the world, looking at common themes of unity.

    These were then linked to what it means to be live in Modern Britain and how these 'GOLDEN RULES' of all collective faith mirrored our Fundamental British Values.

    We finished the day with a celebration assembly were each year group showcased the work and learning they had done that day.

    Thank you to many of our parents who gave up their time to be guest speakers in year groups across school, speaking both passionately and honestly about their faith. The children loved being able to asked you inquisitive questions! PROUD!

  • WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE PANTO (Oh yes we did!)

    All of Year 4 and some other lucky children went to the panto last week. We went to watch the hilarious 'Robin Hood' at the Nottingham Playhouse. Leon from Year 3 was very brave and went up on the stage!
  • Y5/6 BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM 2ND IN THE LEAGUE

    After 2 4-0 wins tonight against Southglade and Robert Shaw, the Old Basford U11's Boys move to 2nd in the league! Fantastic performance from all of our players! PROUD!
  • INCREDIBLE TURN OUT AT THE Y2 READING PARENT WORKSHOP

    Thank you to the 32 Year 2 parents who this morning had the pleasure of joining their children in a shared reading lesson! The children absolutely loved showing and sharing with you all of the techniques and strategies they have been learning in lessons. Your support as always is greatly appreciated!     Congratulations to the OBS chess team who tonight hosted matches against The Nottingham Girls High School and Richard Bonnington. They team of 8 OBS children (ranging from y3-y6 pupils) were overall winners by 1 point!
  • 2 OBS Basketball Players make it in to the County Squad

    Esther and Ellie have been key players in the school basketball team for the last 2 years! They along with 4 other pupils all attended the Nottinghamshire County Basketball Team Trails this weekend. After 2 hours of being observed by the County's Top 4 Coaches, both girls were selected to join the County Team for this season in the Under 11's league! FANTASTIC! (This is the 4th year in a row a member of OBS has been a part of the County Squad!) PROUD!

  • Y5/6 HANDBALL BRONZE MEDAL AT THE CITY FINALS

    Congratulations to the Y5/6 Handball Team who played brilliantly together in this afternoons tournament! Each play scored at least two goals over a series of 6 matches! The finished in 3rd place winning Bronze Medals! Another sporting success for OBS! PROUD!
  • CROSS COUNTRY TEAM SUCCESS AT A VERY WET WOLLATON HALL!

    WOW! What an afternoon at Wollaton Hall! The 14 amazing representatives from Old Basford faced proper 'cross country' conditions at a very muddy and wet Wollaton Hall. I couldn't have been PROUDER of the 7 girls and 7 boys who all completed the 1.5km distance with determination and resilience.

    TEAM SUCCESS ... the boys team overall finished 3rd place with Bronze medals! FANTASTIC!

    INDIVIDUAL SUCESS...... Both Dana and Christian out of the 130 girls runners and 135 boy runners finished 4th and 5th and therefore have been selected to represent the City Of Nottingham in the regional Cross Country Finals in February!
