  • OBS STAR WRITERS FROM F2-Y6

    Thu 24 Sep 2020

Well done to all of the children who have made our new OBS STAR WRITERS display board this week! I was delighted to see such a range of writing styles: diary entries, wanted description posters, letters pretending to be a character from a book, as well as an archaeological dig report!

I was captivated when reading them! WELL DONE!

Let's see who makes the STAR WRITER DISPLAY next time!

  • Y4 GUITARS BEGINS AGAIN

    Mon 21 Sep 2020

This afternoon all of our Year 4 pupils participated in their very first OBS Guitar lesson with our specialist peripatetic teacher Mr Frankenburg! The children did brilliantly! At OBS throughout Year 4 pupils are taught to play the guitar every fortnight throughout the academic year! (Pupils, if they wish, can continue to learn the guitar - for free - in Year 5 and Year 6 at our after school club; many of these children go on to play in our Area Band and at showcase events in Nottingham!)

A fantastic first lessons today from our Year 4 pupils! PROUD!

  • OBS 'COLOUR THEME'

    Fri 18 Sep 2020

For the last 2 and a half weeks since the pupils have returned to school after lockdown, we have been focusing on a WHOLE SCHOOL COLOUR THEME. Each year group has used books such as: The Day the Crayons Quit, The Colour Monster, The Colour Thief, True Colours, and many others, as a stimulus for lessons, learning and activities!

Each year group has created a beautiful display our school hall showcasing their work and learning!

Next week, we will be returning to our normal Autumn Term Curriculum! Information will be sent out to all parents about the learning their children will be doing as we resume our normal curriculum coverage!
