  • HEADTEACHER OBS ADVENT BOOK CALENDAR

    Mrs Shaw's Headteacher Advent BOOK Calendar is BACK!

    Starting on Tuesday, everyday, Mrs Shaw will pick at random a pupil for the first 24 days of December to receive a book! All books have been grouped for different ages of pupils and wrapped in Christmas paper!

     

  • SHERIFF CHALLENGE UPDATE - OBS IN 3RD PLACE

    Well done to all of our OBS pupils! It has been fantastic to see how much they are all enjoying their weekly OBS KM CLUB sessions. I've been so impressed how some pupils are even arriving early to school on their designated day to try and get in a few more extra laps.

    As a school we have now completed 8,452km! PROUD!

  • OBS WRITING SHOWCASE FOR THE MONTH

    Well done to all of the children who have made it on to our OBS WRITING SHOWCASE WALL today! Mrs Whitehead as Literacy Lead, along with class teachers across school have had the difficult choice of picking just 1 piece of writing per class! CONGRAULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE WALL! WHAT A FANTASTIC ARRAY OF WRITING!
  • CHILDREN IN NEED AT OBS

    So a week after Children In Need, we have been able to count the coins our OBS Community so kindly donated! I am very proud to announce we have raised £300.85! A superb amount considering our normal fundraising sales and class competitions had to be restricted this year!

  • CURLING SUPERSTARS IN YEAR 3

    This morning all of Year 3 got to experience the sport of Curling for the very first time! All of the children had the most wonderful lesson learning about this new sport and practising this new skill! Each class had their own mini championship competition, with the winning team in each class achieving a Curling Medal!
  • OBS KM CLUB WEEKLY UPDATE

    As a school this week we now have:

    236km who have achieved their 5km badge

    52km who have achieved their 10km badge

    and for the first time this week have 9 children who have completed their 15km distance, meaning over the past 5 school weeks they have now  achieved a total of 150 laps.

    As a school, recording each and every child's number of laps, Old Basford School has now completed 6321km (3927.8 miles) and is in 3rd Place on the regional Sheriff's Challenge!

  • REMINDER - CHILDREN IN NEED TOMORROW

    Hello everyone

    Just a reminder that it is Children In Need tomorrow. All pupils can come to school in their own clothes for 20p. If you are able to give more please feel free to.

    Tomorrow morning stationed around our OBS ONE WAY SYSTEM will be buckets for pupils and parents to drop off their donations in to. These will then be left untouched over the weekend and counted in school next week.

  • OUR OBS POPPIES ARE BACK

    In preparation for Remembrance Day next week our OBS Poppies are back up, facing our community as a sign of remembering those we have lost, but also as a sign of hope in these current challenging times.
