Live Area Band Rehearsal
Wed 25 May 2022It was wonderful to see Old Basford School area band children playing alongside two other schools yesterday; Crabtree and Southwalk. The children were a credit to the school, they worked well as a team, inspired and elevated each others playing. Simply wonderful! They were learning a good mix of musical styles, the songs included Spiderman No Way Home, Wallom Green and Tumba Palo. We have got to admit our favourite is Tumba Palo which is an Afro-Cuban song, it really gets you moving and a grooving.

Regional Finals under 11s
Tue 17 May 2022Under 11s Regional Finals
What a great day
We travelled to Solihull Moors in the regional finals representing Notts County. The boys were absolutely amazing. The games were only 12 and a half minute games. They started slow losing the first game but grew into the competition. we won 4 in the group stages and lost 2, We qualified for the semi-final. Unfortunately we lost on penalties. The team were amazing. We played for third place in the final game winning 6-1. The children exsperienced all aspects of football, dealing with decisions against them, tournament organisers getting results wrong and they did'nt let that stand in the way. The boys also had to take the fact that the overall winners were a team we beat 5-0 in the group stage. I had to explain that ( THATS FOOTBALL).
Squad, Harvey, Caleb, Hari (C), Goutham, Lewis, Obi, Liam P, Ethan P,
Player of the tournament was Hari, Captain fantastic.

Year 4 Me V Me - Sporting Superstars Challenge
Wed 04 May 2022Mr Robb from School Sport Nottingham visited Year 4 today. Every pupil took part in 6 different activities (speed bounce, shuttle run, hoop challenge, target throw, chest push, long jump) to achieve their personal best score. All of the children worked really hard at the activities but a big well done to all of the children who received a medal for being the highest scoring boys and girls. Also a great big thank you to the 12 children who volunteered to lead the activities for us for the children to enjoy. Mr Robb will be visiting again in a few weeks time where the children will be attempting to better their own scores.
