At Old Basford School, we are proud to have been awarded the Music Mark!  Through our work with NMS we have shown commitment to ensuring high quality music education for all our pupils.  In fact, we have gone one stage further and been awarded Music Hub Champion School status!  This recognises that Old Basford School has gone the extra mile to help support musical opportunities both within and beyond our own school, helping music to make a difference for young people across Nottingham City.

  • COVID UPDATE - Year 5

    Fri 17 Sep 2021

I am writing to let you know about a number of positive Covid-19 cases affecting staff and pupils within our school this week.  We currently have 20 children and two staff members who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Year 5, with additional pupils and staff awaiting the results of PCR tests so these figures might increase.

As a school, we have worked hard to take every step to minimise the spread of the virus. We have worked closely with the City Council and followed advice from Public Health and the DfE throughout the pandemic and we are reassured that the measures we have in place in school are the right ones.

However, the council and Public Health England have today advised me that we should close Year 5 from Monday to help reduce the spread of the virus in our school.

Year 5 will close and move to remote learning from Monday 20th September and not return to school until Monday 27th September.

I am aware that this will cause concern among our wider school community. Please be assured that this is not a decision that has been taken lightly but in this instance, the guidance from the council and Public Health England was clear.

  • Welcome to 2021 - 2022

    Thu 02 Sep 2021

All pupils have had a fantastic first day of the new academic year.  It has been brilliant seeing all the pupils chatting, playing and learning together but also looking so smart in their new school uniforms.  Please remember to look at your child's year group website pages for regular updates, information and photos.
