  • RECOGNTION TREAT TIME 30.11.22

Wed 30 Nov 2022 Mrs Shaw

It was just lovely to end the month of November spending time with so many pupils from all across school who had been recognised by staff for going ABOVE AND BEYOND! I was particularly delighted with the number of children who had been recognised from lunchtime both on our playground and in the dining room. PROUD!

  • BASKETBALL MATCH - 6 PLAYERS MAKE THEIR DEBUT

Mon 28 Nov 2022 Mrs Shaw

Congratulations and well done to the 14 children who represented school tonight at basketball! It was wonderful to see 6 children make their debut for school and the team work so brilliantly together both offensive and defensively! They won their first match 24-2 and their second match 15 -5! 9 pupils scored at least one basket each, therefore cementing the overall team performance. PROUD!

  • LEADERSHIP ROLES ANNOUNCED - CLUB CAPTAINS

Mon 21 Nov 2022 Mrs Shaw

This morning in whole school assembly Mrs Shaw announced the new CLUB CAPTAINS of school for 22/23.

The assembly started by asking all pupils to consider 'What makes a great leader?'

We had numerous fantastic answers from all across school that were linked to our PROUD rules, alongside responses that focused on: being a good listener, being reliable and responsible - BUT - the standout answer came from an F2 pupil who said 'Follow the Leader' - we then talked about being role models, inspiring others and leading by example! Being someone that others wanted to follow!

Congratulations to all of the following CLUB CAPTAINS who I am certain will lead and support their extra-curricular club to the best of their ability. They were presented with their leadership badges by David Lawson our Chair of Governors.

A special thank you to my new Basketball Captains who today helped me select the team for next week's match. They picked 6 new children to have their basketball debut for school, delivered the news to their peers with a clear and considerate explanation, handed out permission letters and passed the team sheet on to Mrs Scrivens in the office to record for our 'representing school/sports appearances log!' ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!

I know each Club Captain will also play a vital role in co-leading their club whilst supporting the lead member of staff facilitating it.

THE OBS 22/23 CLUBS CAPTAINS ARE:

Basketball Captains - Jefferson and Lainey

Athletics Captains - Ella and Lewis

Gymnastics Captains - India and Philip

Guitar Captains - Jemeel and Grace

Art Club Captains - Amelia and Quarrat

Girls Football Captains - Nyah and Liwiz

Boys Football Captains - Caleb and Kai

Gardening Club - Kaiden and Lewis

Chess Captains - Kasim and Carol

Area Band Captains - Tobias and Joseph
