  • Recognition Time 14.10.22

Fri 14 Oct 2022 Mrs Duffin

Wow, what a turn out it was this week for Recognition Time.  It was lovely to spend time with our youngest pupils in F2 right through to our oldest in Year 6.  There were so many positive reasons as to why the pupils had been chosen for recognition, they should be incredibly proud of themselves.  The photo shows just the Key Stage 2 pupils with their prizes and certificates but well done to all the pupils.

  • Under 11s 6-a-side Football

Tue 11 Oct 2022 Mr Hill

On Monday 10th October, our Under 11s football team competed in the 6-a-side Forest Festival. The competition included 24 teams from the Nottingham City, each competing in one of 4 groups, with the group winners going on to the semi-finals and finals. Old Basford breezed through the group stage, winning all of their games without conceding a goal! Rise Park proved stubborn opposition in the semi-finals but two deflected goals in extra time saw us through to the final. In the final, Southglade proved equally challenging opponents and took the lead mid-way through the game. However, Old Basford's resilience and quality shone through and we were comfortable 3-1 winners.  This meant we were able to lift this prestigious trophy for the first time in our history. Well done boys, we are so proud of you.
