GREEN TREE WOODLAND TRUST SCHOOL GOLD AWARD
Thu 21 Jul 2022Another month and another AWARD for OBS!
This time The Woodland Trust has acknowledged Old Basford School for its outdoor learning both onsite, within planned topic trips and within our five residentials from Year 2-6.
In addition to this, it also acknowledges the role our school plays in promoting the importance of environmental awareness to the next generation.
A huge thank you to ECO Club for leading the way with many of our in OBS 21/22 recycling projects and the 'Walk to School Challenge!' PROUD!

SILVER MEDALLISTS Y6 QUAD ATHLETIC TEAM
Thu 21 Jul 2022This afternoon 10 OBS pupils (5 boys and 5 girls) represented our school at the Y6 Quad Athletics City Championships. They each competed in: 50m sprint, 400m long distance, mini howler throw and the standing long jump. Their individual scores were collectively added together meaning they had the second highest school total of the day AND SILVER MEDALLISTS!
Their support for each other, sportsmanship for other schools and individual resilience was demonstrated countless times throughout the afternoon! PROUD!

Jasmine and Mojet finish as highest scoring girls at Y6 Athletics Quad event
Thu 21 Jul 2022Huge congratulations to Jasmine and Mojet who finish in joint 1st place out of 100 girls at this afternoon Y6 QUAD Athletics event at Harvey Haddon outdoor Stadium! OUTSTANDING!

Sports Day Is Back

This morning, OBS Sports Day was well and truly BACK. It was a great morning and the weather helped us by being just right. It was great to have so many adults there to cheer the children on. We had a variety of different races happening with all children competing. The children were amazing. PROUD to be apart of it.

Last night our under 10s won there last league game 7-4 against South Wilford. This means that we have won the league. The boys were unbelievable. Well Done.

Year 4 Go For Gold Fun Run
Thu 14 Jul 2022We had great fun at the 'Go For Gold Fun Run' at Elis Guilford School today. All of the children ran around a 1km track as many times as they could. Most children managed to do it at least 3 times, some children even managed 8! A big well done to all of the children for their determination, resilience and sportsmanship.

Wed 13 Jul 2022Under 10s Football league match
Last night we played against Fernwood school, it was a good competitive game. We came out 3-0 winners with Goals scored by Samuel, Caleb and Obi.
We play South Wilford tomorrow night in our final league game at Southwark. If we win, we win the league.

Lat night our under 10s boys football team went to Southwark, where we played our second league fixture against Robin Hood. The team were incredible. Played some really good football. They made me PROUD
