Pinocchio- Nottingham Playhouse
Thu 10 Nov 2022KS1 were very fortunate to have the Nottingham Playhouse perform their version of Pinocchio. As a Royal Shakespeare Associate School and partnered with the two main Nottingham theatres, we are lucky to be able have such experiences for little or no cost. The children were enthralled for the whole hour and laughed, sang and danced. There were only two actors, who amazed us by taking all of the roles. It was fantastic!

Amazing Gymnastics
Tue 08 Nov 2022Wonderful gymnastics tonight at the Year 2 after-school club. We worked on synchronising our moves and managed to all roll and balance at the same time. This follows last week where we had a 100% success rate at pushing to bridge. We have also really improved our cartwheels and practised them on a line. Photos below. Please note no club next week (15.11.22).

OBS HALL OF FAME: ASSEMBLY NO 2: SHANICE BARNES
Mon 07 Nov 2022This morning in our whole school assembly we had a very special guest speaker join Mrs Shaw - former OBS pupil ... Shanice Barnes!
Now 17 years old, Shanice shared with the pupils her strongest memories of OBS, how it developed her as person, the skills and qualities she now sees in herself that began during her primary school life and the opportunities she grabbed from the ages of 4-11.
The children were hanging on her every word, they loved seeing her Year 6 cardigan and all of the badges she achieved! Shanice shared many photos of her from F2 to Y6: taking part in achievement assemblies, school productions, street dance and athletics competitions and a School Trip to Madrid, Spain she went on to meet our Spanish pen pals to name but a few!
She also shared how OBS prepared her for secondary school life, what she has gone on to achieve since and her aspirations for the future ... which included being a Speech and Language Therapist.
HUGE thanks to Shanice for giving up her time to join us and for inspiring the next generation of OBS pupils!

Autumn Disco
Fri 04 Nov 2022We all had a great time at the disco, we even spotted some princesses on the dance floor! Thank you to staff and F.O.B.S who generously gave up their time , we couldn't do it with out them. Together we raised £372.50. All the money that we raise throughout the year goes towards subsidising trips and residentials , ensuring that all children can take part.
