• OBS CHRISTMAS FOOD & HYGIENE BANK READY FOR NEXT WEEK!

  A huge thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to our OBS Food and Hygiene Banks. Tonight after school our staff made up over 50+ bags for families this Christmas Break! The OBS Food & Hygiene bank will be open to our families from Tuesday next week. PROUD to support and serve our community! 

  

• YEAR 6 BRONZE STAR OF BASFORD AWARD

  Congratulations to all of the Year 6's in the picture below, who yesterday in whole school assembly, were acknowledged for their ability to be STAND OUT role models at our school!

  After being voted for by every member of staff throughout our school, including cleaners, the midday team, specialist Music and PE coaches, the office and site teams - these children received enough vote in total to be awarded with their Bronze Star of Basford Badge!

  

• OBS ADVENT BOOK CALENDAR WINNERS

  Well done and congratulations to the first 6 children who were picked out of our whole school 'OBS ADVENT BOOK CALENDAR' draw today in whole school assembly! We hope you thoroughly enjoy your new book and get to share it with someone at home.

  

• OBS 2ND EVER WINTER FAIR

  What a fantastic evening we had after school tonight at our OBS Winter Fair. Thank you to everyone in our community who either ran a stall or came along to support us!

  Special praise and acknowledgement much go to both Mrs Tee and our TRULY FANTASTIC FOBS (Friends of Old Basford School) Team for the hours and hours of preparation that went in to making the event so successful!

  We were even lucky enough to have Santa and his Elves visit us!

  Together we have raised just over £600 in an hour and 10 minutes! (Pretty Impressive Going!) WOW!

  Each penny will continue to go towards ensuring all class visits, trips and residentials reduce the cost for parents.

  

• Y3 PARENT VOLCANIC ERUPTION WORKSHOP

  Thank you to the huge numbers of parents who were able to join us yesterday morning for our 'EARTH EXTREME' topic parent workshop! The children absolutely loved working alongside you to make each of their DT Volcanoes Erupt using a scientific experiment! The excitement for learning within our front hall was electric!

  

• OBS GYMNASTICS TEAM FINISH 4TH IN THE CITY FINALS

  Congratulations to the OBS Gymnastics Team who yesterday competed in the Nottingham City Finals. They each performed 3 routines in front of the judges with style and confidence! They missed out on a Bronze Medal by just 0.8 of a collective team score and finished in 4th place for The City Of Nottingham! PROUD!

  We are so pleased to announce that we have been able to send off for a second set of FREE sports kits . Thank you to everyone who saved up and brought stickers in to fill up our charts. We collected over 600!

  This also gives us double the chance to win the cash prize of £20000!
