    Wed 15 Jan 2020
What a privilege! 14 of our Y6 OBS pupils on Monday spent all day with our PHSE Leader at an especially run, new event, lead by Nottingham Forest FC in the Community! The children looked at mental health and well being and how they can help support themselves, others and help promote well being for all back in school! It looks like we may have some NEW Well Being Ambassadors soon at OBS! Watch this space!
  • CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESSS FOR ALL AND OBS BOYS TEAM ARE CHAMPIONS OF NOTTINGHAM!

    Wed 15 Jan 2020

What a day! This afternoon 16 of our 'super fit' OBS pupils represented school at the Nottingham City Finals for Cross Country. Each of them had to run 1.7km across a very hilly and muddy Wollaton Hall.

The girls and boys teams had to compete separately, with the girls setting off first! Out of the 160 girls entered, all 6 of our girls finished in the TOP 50! With 2 of them finishing in the top 20! WOW!

Next it was the boys turn.... all 10 OBS boys competed against over 180 other pupils. Christian finished in 2nd place, Alijah in 5th and Harvey finished in 10th! This means all 3 of these boys have been selected to represent Nottingham City at the East Midlands regional finals for Cross Country on Saturday 1st February! AN OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT!

Another 2 of our boys Rio and Jacob finished in the top 20 boys! And every member of the boys team finished within the TOP 50!

To top it all off … the boys team as a collectively finished with the fastest team time of the day and therefore were announced as The Boys Team Cross Country Champions for Nottingham City.

Well done to Jailah, Maria, Libbie, Precious, Skyla and Kara! Deacon, François, Ryan, Layton, Rio, Harvey, Alijah, Jacob, Caleb and Christian!

    PROUD!

    Mon 13 Jan 2020

This weekend 11 OBS pupils went with Mrs Shaw to the Nottinghamshire County Basketball Trails at Mapperley Sports Village for an intensive set of trials in order to pick which children in both Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire would represent our area in regional events.

Renowned basketball coach Austin Grant along with his fellow assistant coaches selected a Boys Squad of 18 members and a Girls Squad of 10 members!

I am OVER THE MOON and DELIGHTED to share with you that 4 girls (Kyhannah, Kara, Ella and Maja) and 4 boys (Connor, Declan, Harry and Chris) were all selected for the County Team! They will play in a regional event in March after training alongside their new county teammates for the next few weeks!

  • OBS ARE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS FOR THE CITY NOTTINGHAM!

    Thu 09 Jan 2020

This afternoon 13 of our pupils, 6 girls and 7 boys gave absolutely everything in 7 back to back matches the Nottingham City Basketball Finals which were held at The Nottingham Trent University!

The team of talented individuals won all but 1 match, which they lost by 1 basket to Robin Hood Primary final 3 seconds of the game!

However, Robin Hood had also lost another game earlier in the tournament! This meant OBS and Robin Hood were on the same number of points at the end of competition! But ... OBS were announced the overall winners by having the highest points difference of the tournament!

    AN INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT! PROUD!
