  • OBS School Has Got Talent!

Fri 12 Nov 2021 Mrs Kelly

Simran in Year 6 showcased her talent during the star of Basford awards. Miss Crosby was blown away with her piano playing skills, she excitedly told me that I had to witness it for myself. So on Friday myself and Class 7 entered the school hall full of anticipation ready to witness first hand the delights of Simran's piano playing skills. We were not disappointed and were blown away! She played a range of songs from her repertoire and had the audience eating out of her hand, singing, dancing with faces beaming from ear to ear. She drew in other adults from around the school who came to see where the beautiful music was coming from. Simran has taught herself to play the keyboard at home, learning by ear. Thank you Simran it was a purely magical and we can't wait to hear you play again.

  • A fantastic first week

    Fri 05 Nov 2021

I have been blown away by all the fantastic learning that has taken place this week.  It has been lovely to have all the children back in school and no cases of COVID.  In school this week, I have seen: World War 2 rations being used to make carrot cakes in Year 6, Year 2 and Year 5 working together to make moon buggies, Year 4 becoming Roman soldiers, Year 1 making edible sparklers and Foundation embracing the changes to the seasons.  Make sure you look at your child's year group page for photos of what they have been learning each week.
