We currently have the following vacancy

Care Assistant

 

Contract Term: 1-year temporary contract (with a view to be made permanent if successful)

Salary:  Grade C, points 4–5 £18,437-£18,728 actual salary per annum

(£24,404-£24,790 FTE per annum)

Hours:  32.5 hours per week (8:30 – 3:30), term time only (including INSET days)

Start Date: September 2025

We are looking for a talented, passionate, and creative individual to take the role of a Care Assistant within our SEND Team, which is led by our experienced SENDCo.

 

This is a wonderful opportunity for an aspiring teaching assistant or care assistant to gain experience in successful Nottingham City primary school. 

 

Old Basford School is a two-form entry primary school in Nottingham City with a fantastic reputation. Your main responsibility is to support the class teacher with the education for SEND pupils and ensuring the safety, general welfare and wellbeing of pupils throughout the school day, this can be within the classroom and/or within our Enhanced Provision unit (The Willow).  The role will initially be based within EYFS but could include work throughout school (KS1 and KS2).

 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in a childcare or personal care environment; this can be personal or professional.
  • Experience of working in a setting subject to safeguarding and health & safety policies.
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work well on your own and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and sense of humour
  • A willingness to learn new skills
